SALZBURG Marionette Theater from Austria will present a puppet musical "The Sound of Music" at Shanghai Children's Art Theater on October 30 and 31.

Salzburg was home of the Von Trapp family featured in the 1965 film production of "The Sound of Music" starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The Salzburg Marionette Theater premiered its puppet musical of the same name in 2007, telling the same story and presenting the beautiful Austria music.

Established in 1913, the Salzburg Marionette Theater has developed a huge repertoire of operas, ballets and productions for both children and adults, all presented by marionettes.
