Women’s life expectancy increases to 85 2016-02-03
THE average life expectancy of Shanghai citizens born last year is 82.75 years, an increase of more than three months from last year’s figure of 82.47 years, according to official figures released yesterday.
Girls born last year are expected to live 85.09 years on average, or six months more than their sisters born a year earlier, the Shanghai Health and Family Planning Commission said in its annual report.
Boys, meanwhile, can expect to live for 80.47 years, or five months longer than their brothers who joined the world in 2014.
