THE second annual tulip festival at Daning Lingshi Park in Jing'an District gets under way on Saturday.

This year's event, which runs until April 10, will feature about 2.1 million individual plants all from the Netherlands, the home of the tulip — in more than 50 varieties, the park said yesterday in a press release.

The duration of the festival is almost twice what it was last year, while the number of plants on display has almost tripled.
