New tech gives women prenatal care at home 2016-04-06
A local maternity hospital is wiring itself into the future.
Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital is adopting smart technology that will allow pregnant women to get checked out by doctors without having to leave home.
Wearable devices and other in-home equipment will allow doctors to monitor their weight, urine, blood pressure and the fetus's heartbeat by accessing a database linked with the woman's home, said Dr Duan Tao, hospital president, yesterday.
