Yangtze River Delta region developing faster, life getting better 2022-10-19
"More and more people are saying that the Yangtze River Delta region is developing faster and faster, and life is getting better and better," Zhao Jiaming, spokesperson of the Shanghai delegation to the 20th CPC National Congress, said at a press conference yesterday.
Zhao made the announcement in response to a question about the implementation of the Yangtze River Delta integrated development, a major national strategy planned, deployed and promoted by General Secretary Xi Jinping.
The integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta will definitely get wider and more solid, Zhao said, adding that Shanghai will strive not only to take the initiative, but also to provide more services.
He said Shanghai and the other three provinces in the region — Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui — will work together to further deepen the Yangtze River Delta integration.
There are 72 delegates in Shanghai delegation to the National Congress, including scholars and professors from universities, front-line workers in advanced manufacturing, Olympic champions, and "longtang premiers" who have dedicated their services in grassroot communities, Zhao said.
"They are the backbone of Shanghai's Party organizations at all levels."
