Hongqiao Intl Economic Forum to kick off in Shanghai 2022-11-02
The Hongqiao International Economic Forum, an important part of the China International Import Expo, will kick off in Shanghai.
Themed "Stimulation of Global Opening-up Impetus and Sharing of Cooperation Opportunities", the 5th Hongqiao Forum consists of a main forum, a high-level session titled "RCEP Spurs Higher-level Opening Up", an international symposium which will see the release of the World Openness Report 2022, as well as parallel sessions, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau during a news conference in Shanghai.
Against the backdrop of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), which took effect on Jan 1, 2022, the high-level session "RCEP Spurs Higher-level Opening Up" will be one of the most important activities during the 5th Hongqiao Forum. The event will showcase China's execution of the RCEP and how the country intends to share development opportunities with the world, Sun added.
The World Openness Report 2022 that will be released during the forum period will feature an analysis of the latest trends in openness and showcase China's achievements in opening-up over the past decade, added Sun.
