US chip giant Nvidia leases new office space in Shanghai, report says 2025-05-20

Nvidia has rented a new office space for existing employees in Shanghai, highlighting the US chip giant's ongoing commitment to the Chinese market, according to a new report.
Nvidia will comply with export controls and will not send any graphics processing unit designs or core intellectual property to China for modification, The Paper reported, citing the California-based company.
In addition, Nvidia updated several job listings in Shanghai on its website Tuesday. The company has 76 positions open in Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen.
Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang visited China in January and again last month.
On April 17, Huang met with Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, in Beijing, saying that the country is a very important market for Nvidia and he hopes to continue cooperating with it, China Central Television reported.
China's AI market could top USD50 billion over the next two to three years, Huang said previously. Selling products in the Chinese market could generate revenue and taxes for the US while also "creating a large number of jobs" in the North American country, he noted.
