Shanghai Launches Downtown Copter Sightseeing Services   2025-05-22

Imagine soaring above the city and taking in breathtaking views of Shanghai's most famous landmarks in just 15 minutes. Doesn't it seem exciting? Now it is a reality! The city launched copter sightseeing routes in the downtown areas on Monday, offering an unparalleled aerial experience.

The helicopter on the low-altitude sightseeing route departs from Global Harbor for the tour.

The helicopter departs from the outdoor platform on the sixth floor of Global Harbor and takes passengers on a thrilling journey past iconic sites such as the Shanghai Stadium, Lupu Bridge, Nanpu Bridge, Lujiazui and Yangpu Bridge (Pudong side) before returning. This 15-minute flight provides a unique perspective of the city's stunning skyline and landmarks.

Two sightseeing routes are now available. Another route is a three-to-five-minute circular tour around Global Harbor, allowing passengers to enjoy the scenic views along Suzhou Creek in Putuo District.

The helicopter awaits on the sixth floor of Global Harbor.

Ticket prices vary depending on the route and duration. For the three-to-five-minute Global Harbor circular tour, a single ticket costs 650 yuan (US$90), while a group of five can charter the helicopter for 4,300 yuan. The 15-minute tour costs 2,520 yuan per person, and a group of five can charter the helicopter for 15,000 yuan. Additionally, there is a five-minute helicopter photo experience available for 68 yuan.

Tickets are now available on platforms such as Ctrip and Dianping. Local residents and tourists can make reservations in advance through these channels.

These new routes add to Shanghai's growing list of helicopter services.

For example, there is a one-hour helicopter shuttle service between Pudong International Airport and Kunshan City Air Terminal, with a one-way fare of 1,600 or 1,800 yuan per person. Another route connects Pudong to Jinshan, and Haining in Zhejiang Province, significantly reducing travel time compared to driving. The route between Pudong and Jinshan alone takes less than 20 minutes.
