AutoFlight, a Shanghai-based electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturer, has unveiled the "Integrated Sea–Air Low-Altitude Economy Solution" — a system designed to overcome critical infrastructure bottlenecks and accelerate the adoption of electric aerial transport over water, the company announced over the weekend.

The solution, centered on a self-developed "Zero-Carbon eVTOL Water Vertiport", extends eVTOL infrastructure across vast aquatic areas. It directly addresses key industry challenges such as difficult land-based site selection, slow deployment of ground infrastructure, and complex take-off and landing operations.

The core of the system is the Zero-Carbon eVTOL Water Vertiport, which acts as a mobile aerial hub and intelligent command center. The fully electric vertiport features a spacious deck that serves as a landing pad, covered in solar panels. The underlying cabin functions as a departure lounge and technical room.

Integrated within the structure are photovoltaic energy storage and charging systems, an intelligent dispatch system, and communication facilities. This creates a flexible, zero-carbon hub that supports eVTOL take-off, landing, and charging, while enabling data sharing and intelligent coordination with the aircraft. Its design allows for rapid deployment on rivers, lakes, and seas.

The integrated land-sea-air system, compatible with AutoFlight's "White Shark", "CarryAll" cargo, and "Prosperity" passenger eVTOLs, is designed for a range of transformative applications, such as marine energy platform maintenance, emergency response, high-frequency commuting, marine–aerial tourism, and mobile vertiport clusters.

Developed in collaboration with global leading new energy provider CATL, the solution integrates high-safety batteries. The solution allows coastal and waterside cities worldwide to rapidly deploy green aviation infrastructure, transforming their waterways into hubs for clean, efficient transport.

The viability of the system was put on public display for the first time on the afternoon of Nov 22 at Dianshan Lake in Kunshan, Jiangsu province. In a further display of capability, AutoFlight conducted a multi-aircraft formation flight, where three 2-ton-class eVTOLs flew in formation and successfully performed live airdrop missions, including deploying supplies and life rafts.
