The consumer goods section of the 9th China International Import Expo is set to feature a wave of global premieres and China-tailored innovations from top international brands, with localized debuts and technology-driven upgrading emerging as two defining trends.

Most global and Asian launches are engineered around Chinese consumer needs, covering functional design, cultural adaptation and fully localized production.

IKEA rolls out a light home renovation solution for China's existing housing stock, with kitchen upgrades completed in as little as three days. For the sixth consecutive year, it debuts its Chinese New Year collection globally at CIIE — the 2027 Year of the Sheep line blends traditional woodblock art and plum blossom elements with Nordic design. Also making their China debuts are MNC-certified cod hot dogs, firmer mattresses for local sleep preferences, and space-saving modular electric sofas.

L'Oreal brings a record five new brands to China, including skincare label Skinbetter Science and luxury fragrance house Creed. Its K-Scan AI-powered scalp analyzer, which delivers precise scalp condition readings, is paired with the K-Station anti-hair loss device to provide personalized care regimens. In addition, its patented Mexoryl 400 UV filter for La Roche-Posay has won accelerated approval via the expo's government-enterprise channel and will soon hit domestic official channels.

Marking its 80th anniversary, Estee Lauder globally launches its skin longevity scientific innovation platform — Mastering Longevity, which adopts a systemic "skin longevity hub" approach to anti-aging. Its local co-creation program Beauty X has drawn over 1,000 domestic startups in three years, with one Clinique mask developed and launched in just nine months. In addition, MAC's Asia-exclusive palette and Tom Ford's Soleil Neige collection also make their debuts.

MUJI globally premieres a hemp plant-dye collection with full local production, using Heilongjiang-sourced hemp and traditional dyeing techniques from Shaanxi, Guizhou, and Henan provinces to create six soft hues. Over 90 percent of its food products are locally developed for Chinese tastes.

Shiseido showcases more than 60 debut items. Its autologous cell hair regeneration technology, targeting the silver economy, will land in Hainan's Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone.

Alongside localized offerings, AI, advanced bioscience and sustainability have become common industry priorities.

The expo officially opens on Friday, with all debut products and interactive experiences available to attendees.
