CONSTRUCTION of Metro Line 18 has commenced, its operator announced yesterday. The line, which will run through Baoshan, Yangpu and the Pudong New Area, is scheduled for completion in 2020. The first phase will run from Hangtou to Changjiang Road South. Altogether the line will be 36 kilometers long and have 26 stations. It will provide direct connections to Lines 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14 and 16, and the Maglev service at Longyang Road.
