SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong and Liu Shiyu, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, met Juan Pablo Cordoba, chairman of the World Federation of Exchanges, on Tuesday before the federation's board meeting in Shanghai.

Yang said Shanghai's financial market continued to grow in recent years and is now a comprehensive system covering stocks, bonds, foreign currencies, commodities, futures, OTC derivatives, and gold.

He said the Shanghai Free Trade Zone is a testing ground for the country's financial reform and innovation. People attending the board meeting of the World Federation of Exchanges are welcome to offer advice on developing the capital market in Shanghai and share experiences with their Shanghai colleagues.
