SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met a delegation led by Fred Upton, chairman of the US House of Representatives' Energy and Commerce Committee, on Tuesday.

Yang said Shanghai is the sister city of San Francisco, Chicago and Houston and has huge potential for cooperation with the United States in many areas, including energy and commerce.

He said Shanghai is standing by China's commitment to strictly control the use of energy, improve energy efficiency and promote clean energy.
