International conference of librarians opens in Shanghai 2016-07-08
With the theme "Libraries: Enabling Progress," the two-day 8th Shanghai International Library Forum opened at the Shanghai Library today, attracting more than 300 delegates from 27 countries and regions.
Among them were Donna Scheeder, president of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, and Yu Qiuyu, a famous Chinese writer and chairman of the director board of Shanghai Library.
They will discuss the latest challenges and opportunities in library management, such as construction of smart library, public cultural service in the digital environment and "Internet plus" services in the big data era.
