Songjiang to have trams by year end 2016-07-21
THE T2 tram line in Songjiang District will become operational by the end of the year, the district’s governor Qin Jian said yesterday.
Two tram lines are under construction in the central streets of suburban Songjiang. The 15-kilometer long T2 line will be put on trial run in December. A new 33-meter-long, five-carriage electric tramcar will be used on both T1 and T2. It will have a capacity for 300 people and will run at a maximum speed of 70 kilometers.
The lines will have their own tracks.
