New date for annual marathon 2016-08-03
THE 2016 Shanghai International Marathon was been moved ahead from November to October 30, organizers said yesterday.
This year's event was originally scheduled to take place on November 6, the first Sunday of November.
According to Zhou Jin, general manager of Shanghai East Best Lansheng Event Management Company, the decision was jointly made by the city government, as Shanghai will host a few major sports events at the beginning of November, and the new date will prevent clashes between events.
