Hundreds tie the knot on qixi   2016-08-10

 

 

A TOTAL of 857 couples chose to tie the knot on qixi, or Chinese Valentine's Day, said local civil affairs authorities.

The marriage registration centers in the Pudong New Area, and Chongming and Yangpu districts saw the largest number of weddings, according to the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau.

The average number of marriage registrations in Pudong is about 60 per day, but it soared to 202 yesterday.
