Trial run for city's new tunnel 2016-09-06
CHANGJIANG Road Tunnel, Huangpu River's newest and widest tunnel, will undergo trial operations from Saturday, the city's transport commission said yesterday.
With the newly connected tunnel in operation, residents living in northern Shanghai will have an alternative river crossing, rather than having to rely on the Outer Ring Road Tunnel.
The new tunnel, which is 4,912 meters long, connects Changjiang Road and Shuangjiang Road. It has six lanes and three exits, one on Gangcheng Road in Pudong, the other two in Puxi — one on Changjiang Road W., the other on Jungong Road.
