SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski of Peru and his delegation at Xingguo Hotel on Thursday.

Yang said the China-Peru relationship developed well in recent years and there has been a frequent exchange of high-level visits. The two countries signed a free trade agreement and established a comprehensive strategic partnership. These laid a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation.

He said Shanghai has signed a letter of intent with Lima, the capital of Peru, on cooperation in trade, transportation and tourism. He believed the president's visit boost the Sino-Peruvian relationship to a new height.
