SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met Saskatchewan Province Premier Brad Wall from Canada on Tuesday.

Yang said that China and Canada have entered a new stage of bilateral relationship and cooperation thanks to the effort of their leaders. The two countries are complementary in economy and Shanghai has close business ties with Canada.

The mayor briefed Canadian guests on the development of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone and a series of reform and opening measures in the zone to facilitate investment and foreign trade. He said the city's financial sector will further open to foreign companies, including those from Canada.
