City's centenarians have things in common   2016-10-09

 

 

A 112-year-old woman was named Shanghai's top "longevity star"yesterday as the city announced that it had recorded more than 1,700 centenarians by the end of 2015.

The city's oldest resident Zhu Xiaohua was born in 1904 and has a strong good memory and regularly exercises. She enjoys chatting and sweet food. Zhu said she never took any nutrition supplements but eats a cup of yogurt every day.

A ceremony was held to honor the city's "longevity stars" and centenarian couples ahead of the Chongyang Festival tomorrow, which falls on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month and is a day to honor seniors.
