Free Wi-Fi on the commute 2016-11-24
ABOUT 5,500 buses in Pudong and rural districts of Shanghai have been equipped with free Wi-Fi whose signals are transferred by 4G networks, the company that provides the service said yesterday.
On first use, users are required to download the app named “16WiFi,” select “16WiFi” from the Wi-Fi list once on a bus and then enter their mobile phone number in the app to get a verification code and set up a password. The process will then connect automatically when riding a bus as long as the app is running.
There is no English version of the app yet.
