New traffic law 2017-01-16
SEGWAY riders on the streets will be fined 100 to 1,000 yuan (US$16 to US$160) if caught, a police official said yesterday.
Wang Yi, director of the legal office at Shanghai traffic police, said the city’s new traffic law, to take effect from March 25, makes it clear that users of segways as well as all other transport tools which are not allowed on the streets will be punished.
