THE city’s Metro network saw 11.56 million trips on Friday — a record high, the Metro operator said over the weekend.

Metro Lines 7, 9, 11, 13 also hit their own records that day, with 920,000, 1.01 million, 920,000 and 450,000 trips respectively. The operator added Metro Lines 1, 2 and 8 ferried some 33,00 passengers during the extended service on Friday. The lines, except for the section between Guanglan Road and Pudong International Airport on Line 2, have extended night operating hours by 30 minutes on Fridays, Saturdays and the day before national holidays.
