Plan to double health care beds for the elderly 2017-03-08
SHANGHAI aims to have 1.5 medical care beds for every 100 elderly residents — more than double the current 0.6 — by 2020 to tackle the challenges of an aging society.
The target is part of a five-year blueprint announced by authorities yesterday.
Half the beds will be in medical facilities and the rest will be in aged care institutions.
