Checkpoint monitoring nets suspects   2014-05-19

 

 

TRAFFIC officers monitoring road entries to Shanghai saw more than 482,000 vehicles carrying some 695,000 people pass through the city’s 31 checkpoints between April 20 and May 17.

In separate incidents, a group of three people and a woman were held after nearly 12 kilograms of drugs were found in their vehicles, police said.

Yang Weilan, a traffic police officer with in Jinshan District, noted that one of three people in a car stopped by him was a drug addict and discovered several packets of white powder in a bag and bottles of liquid in a shoe box.
