SHANGHAI Mayor Ying Yong met David Gonski, chairman of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), last Friday.

Ying said Sino-Australian cooperation in economy, trade, tourism and other fields developed fast after the two countries established diplomatic relationship in 1973 and upgraded it into comprehensive strategic partnership in 2014.

He said Shanghai, being China's economic center, is following the central government's plan to build itself into an international financial center that matches China's economic status. To achieve the goal in 2020, Shanghai is pushing for financial reform and innovation and attracts financial institutions with good business environment.
