Museum to honor the docks 2017-06-23
CONSTRUCTION began yesterday on an outdoor museum that will tell the story of Shanghai’s earliest cargo docks.
Shanghai Docks Heritage Museum in the North Bund area is scheduled to be opened by the end of the year. The museum within a riverside park will include industrial relics, sculptures, videos and other exhibitions about the historic docks along the Huangpu River in Hongkou District.
The museum will highlight the history of renowned celebrities and scientists who entered Shanghai from the docks, an official with the district government said. They include Albert Einstein and Charlie Chaplin.
