All-clear after poison gas leak 2014-05-26
AIR and water quality in Baoshan District were at safe levels yesterday morning after poisonous sulfur trioxide gas leaked on Saturday, environmental authorities said.
The leak occurred at noon when maintenance work was being carried out at Shanghai Lianshi Electronic Chemical Materials Co in Baoshan.
Primary investigations concluded that the gas might have escaped from an 8-ton tank containing sulfur trioxide, due to corrosion on a valve.
