Sixty volunteers who advised and assisted budding entrepreneurs were honored yesterday for their work by the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. They were awarded the title of “excellent director.” One of them is Zhu Jianjun, a retired economist, who became a volunteer in the 1990s. He supported the government’s efforts to help workers retrenched from state-owned enterprises to start their own business.
