A total of 50 leading medical specialists in Shanghai were honored for their achievements and dedication to the healthcare industry yesterday as the Shanghai Medical Association celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Established in 1917, the Shanghai Medical Association is the most well known and longest running medical organization in the city, with a total of 92 branches and 22,000 members.

It has long been involved in medical research and study, professional training and cultivation, and is also a platform for medical staff to partake in academic exchange and offer further education.
