Metro authorities are hopeful of starting the trial run and even operation of the last phase of Line 13 sometime this year. With the “shield machine” digging through the underground space between Chengshan and Dongming road stations in the Pudong New Area on February 2, the second and third phase of tunnel construction of Metro Line 13 has been completed. “The tunnel construction between these two stops was more difficult than others,” said a Metro officer. “Multiple pipelines went through the area, and the ground traffic was very busy.”
