Shanghai Party Secretary Li Qiang met Eric Chu Li-lun, mayor of New Taipei City, and his delegation on March 25.

Li expressed his gratitude for Chu’s effort in promoting the cross-strait relations and briefed his guests on Shanghai’s economic and social development. Li said 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of China’s opening-up reform, and the city will strive to further promote the opening up and globalization and create better life quality for the people.

Shanghai has a large number of Taiwanese people and Taiwan-funded companies, and the city has recently introduced 31 preferential policies to benefit the Taiwanese companies. The city will introduce more measures to benefit Taiwanese people and provide a better working environment for them, Li said.
