China-US sequel to ‘Crouching Tiger’ 2014-06-17
THE sequel to Oscar-winning martial arts epic “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” will be a Chinese-American production, it was announced at the 17th Shanghai International Film Festival yesterday.
Co-produced by Pegasus Media, the China Film Group Corp and the Weinstein Co, “The Green Destiny” will be shot this year in New Zealand and China, and scheduled for release in 2016.
“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” directed by Ang Lee and released in 2000, grossed US$213.5 million and won four Oscars, including Best Foreign Language Film.
