Central lanes will see city buses ‘run like Metro trains’ 2014-06-25
SHANGHAI buses will be able to run “like Metro trains” on a new major thoroughfare, with their own lanes in the center of the road.
Work is due to start soon on the east-to-west Beiheng Passage, which will stretch 19.4 kilometers, linking Changning, Jing’an, Putuo, Zhabei, Hongkou and Yangpu districts.
This will be the first time the city has reserved the center of a road for buses.
