Trash-sorting volunteer teams established 2018-09-05
Shanghai is building up trash-sorting volunteer teams to instruct residents and promote the city’s garbage classification campaign.
According to the Shanghai Volunteer Association, a recruitment drive has been running since August 28. The first batch of seven volunteer teams are being built – one city level and six district level teams to cover Yangpu, Jing’an, Changning, Fengxian, Songjiang and Chongming districts.
Shanghai has set a target of achieving a garbage classification rate of 100 percent in the above six districts, as well as in enterprises and institutions, within the year.
