Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met Gary Guthart, CEO of Intuitive Surgical Inc.; Risto Siilasmaa, chairman of Nokia; and Chung Eui-Sun, executive vice chairman of Hyundai Motor Company, on Thursday. Ying welcomed his guests to attend the first China International Import Expo and said opening-up is China’s pillar policy. At the opening ceremony of the CIIE, President Xi Jinping said China will only further opening up to the outside world. The CIIE is China’s major decision to promote a new round of high quality opening-up and reforms. Shanghai welcomes the world’s companies to bring their quality products into China, branch into the Chinese markets, invest in the city and strengthen their cooperation with local companies.
