The conference for returnees to Shanghai and other Yangtze River Delta cities will endeavor to encourage more professionals who went abroad for study or work to return home and set up businesses in the district. “Most returnee startups feature core innovative technologies,” said Xiong Quan of Shanghai Western Returned Scholars Association, organizers of the event. The conference is expected to arouse the innate entrepreneurship of Shanghai residents as well as local expats, said Chen Xinhua, head of Changning human resources bureau.
