An exhibition kicked off on Wednesday at the Shanghai Wu Changshuo Memorial Hall to showcase 61 pieces of calligraphy about Chinese President Xi Jinping’s thoughts on diplomacy. The event, in the theme of people-to-people diplomacy, was hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai government, the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and some other parties, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up campaign. All calligraphy works were created by famous calligraphers in Shanghai, including advisers and members of the Shanghai Calligraphers' Association and award winners in major national contests. All were based on famous quotes from Xi’s important speeches and articles on diplomacy.
