Residents are reasonably satisfied with the city’s efforts to improve their lives over the past year, the government has said. In 2018, the city government completed 31 life improvement projects with an investment of 11.19 billion yuan (US$1.65 billion) in 10 areas closely related to people’s daily lives including care for the elderly, the environment, traffic conditions, sports facilities, waste recycling and cultural services. The satisfaction score, based on an online vote, official statistics and opinions from lawmakers and political advisors, reached 91.02, up 0.11 points from 2017.
