Increased fines for errant bus drivers 2019-03-13
Bus drivers who fail to comply with regulations will be liable for increased penalties from March 15.
Currently, drivers who fail to halt at stops are liable for fines of 500 yuan (US$75). This will be raised to 2,000 yuan.
Drivers who allow passengers off between stops will be fined 3,000 yuan, compared with 2,000 yuan now.
