Nearly 40 outdoor concerts from home and abroad will be held free of charge throughout the year as part of an annual music festival that starts next weekend. The Shanghai City Lawn Concert series will be held on the lawn to the south of Shanghai Concert Hall on Yan'an Road E. from April 13. The concerts aim to promote the classics among local citizens without the need to go to concert halls. Nearly 280,000 people have enjoyed the annual musical feast, which has been held for six years, said Huang Zhijian, deputy director of the district's culture and tourism bureau.
