Some city buses get more safety equipment 2014-07-18
Many of Shanghai's public buses have been outfitted to improve their safety via automatic fire-extinguishing equipment and extra surveillance cameras.
Sensors are placed near the engine, and once the temperature is detected to be over 110 degrees Celsius, the equipment will spray carbon dioxide foam onto the engine.
"The equipment can prevent fire accidents caused by oil leakage or aging wires, and win time for passengers to escape," said Yang Yong, spokesman for Pudong Yanggao Bus Co.
