Shanghai’s industry workers will have 300 tailor-made skill and career centers thanks to a program introduced by Shanghai General Trade Union this year. So far, 124 such centers have been established around the city in companies, skill training centers, vocational schools and other institutions, the trade union said on Monday. Based on their qualifications and programs, the centers are given up to 50,000 yuan (US$7,000) to cover the cost of equipment, textbooks and teaching aids.
