Crowd-control restrictions have been implemented in several Metro stations so as to reduce the number of people on platforms and in trains, Shanghai Metro said on Thursday.

During morning rush hour, partition barriers were rolled out in the interchange area of Century Avenue station, where lines 2, 4, 6 and 9 converge.

Feng Guodong, chief of the station, told Shanghai Daily that passengers who interchange from lines 4, 6 and 9 to Line 2 have to walk about 100 meters more than before.
