Training for 1,200 carers of elderly 2014-10-30
SHANGHAI yesterday launched a training scheme for 1,200 care workers for seniors to improve skills in the sector and tackle an acute staff shortage.
Officials with the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau said this would be the first batch of trainees and hoped the initiative will help improve staff retention.
The bureau said it would also improve social security status and career development for care workers.
