TWELVE bus routes will be rerouted or shortened due to repairs on the busy Yan’an Road E. tunnel after the Chinese New Year, authorities announced yesterday.
The tunnel was built in the 1980s with one portion of the tunnel in operation for 26 years. It is the busiest underwater tunnel in the city with about 90,000 vehicles, on an average, using it everyday.
The 12 routes include Airport Bus Line 5 linking Pudong International Airport to Shanghai Railway Station and the Airport Night Bus from Pudong to Hongqiao International Airport.
